Looking for a Lawyer for an Arson Case?

Law enforcement and arson investigators may believe you are the perpetrator and everything you do or say will be used to support this theory. No person is safe in an interrogation without an attorney. There are countless cases in which an innocent person eventually confessed. Why? The pressure becomes too much to bear. Don’t take any chances if you are facing charges of arson. Get in touch at once and I will take action to protect your rights, and manage any situation in which you are questioned about a fire. I care about my clients, and I like to win for them. I work long, hard hours crafting a defense case, and I engage in a careful evaluation of every piece of evidence. As there is no case that doesn’t contain some flaw or error, I need to identify the holes in the case against you and build your case.

Penalties for Arson

There are heavy penalties imposed in an arson conviction, including:

  • 3 – 7 years for setting fire to an uninhabited structure
  • 4 – 10 years for arson on another’s property
  • 6 – 30 years for arson of an uninhabited dwelling
  • 6 – 30 years for arson causing great bodily injury

Arson is a very serious criminal offense. You may be charged with the crime and be completely innocent. It could be a case of mistaken identity, an accident or you may have been forced to participate, fearful that you would be harmed if you didn’t. No matter what occurred, it is imperative that you have a Chicago criminal defense lawyer that knows what it takes to win a case at trial. I am on your side, 100%, and all I am interested in is you, your rights, and fighting to help you preserve your freedom.

Aggravated Arson

There are some cases of arson which are more serious, termed “aggravated arson.” These are cases in which a structure is knowingly damaged when the perpetrator should have known that people may be present in the structure, or if any person suffers injury, permanent disability or disfigurement, or in cases in which a fireman, policeman or similar public servant is injured while performing their duties as a result of the act of arson. This is a Class X felony, with a mandatory prison sentence. If convicted, you will not avoid spending a minimum of 6 years in state prison, and the potential for serving 30 years is very possible.

Don’t take chances if you are accused of arson. I know how to help you fight back.
